Change ONE note in any of the great concerts, and the entire structure falls apart... change ALL the notes... change the harmonics... change whatever you want in this concert.. the result will be exactly the same.
The thing that makes this recent recording so so good is the tightness of the ensemble, and the subtle changes the drummer makes throughout the score.
Pretty sure that the drummer has made no changes and that all of this detail was written by Kapustin in a detailed score
@@Nooticus Trust me, there's definitely small, subtle changes. The drummer mirrors more of the rhythms throughout the rest of the ensemble. The score does this sometimes, but much of the time he's supposed to just keep the beat by playing straight eighth beats and such.
@@tfpp1 interesting! thanks
Great recording of a really cool piece! I just couldn‘t find who is playing, would be interesting.
Vln. Alexander Chernov Pf. Nikolai Kapustin
Beautiful, which piece is this? Sounds like Bill Evans!
Thanks for a nice comment. It was an improvisation by myself.
@@Pianodud Wow, I love it! I like to improvise too, but not that good. By the way, are you still practising Kapustin's Humoresque or anything else by Kapustin? I'm currently learning the 3rd movement of his Sonata No. 16 ^^
Unsuk Chin is one of the Greatest Composer in history of Music.
👏Love this combination of Violin & Piano using Kapustin music!
truly yes..! He understood that how to combine violin and piano’s technique into his own language.
Nikolai Kapustin - 8 concert studies 중 7. Intermezzo 입니다
was this edited to be acoustically closer to Angelov's live recording? I loved Frank's original, drier recording but the added reverb here really suits this piece too! so good
Yess! i agree with your opinion. The result track wich i made is quite similar to Angelov’s one. I just put on track an altiverb-plugin(sound likely to make acustical reverb) to create likely real acustic reverb sounds. 😊
I think this music is cross over nature and machine. Machine means artificial things.
Wait this is actually a good piece of music??? Wtf
Definitely, absolutely.
Poulenc was nowhere near this rarely successful but in this case completely successful fusion of jazz and classical style. Fantastic - I plan on playing this.
glad to hear that :)
Slightly unrelated but whats the most beautiful piece youve heard this month or even this year And then whats the most relentless, driving piece youve heard this month

I just searched for Kapustin's publishers on the ASCAP website. There are no publishers listed. Then I searched in the US Copyright Office and found nothing. Just because someone claims control of a piece of music doesn't mean they have it. Phony copyright and publising claiming is a growing scam. If anyone claims copyright or publishing, make them show you some documents. This piece should stay on RUclips forever.
Schott publishes him
Published by Schott Music. We don’t have the same definition of copyright. Nothing goes to the artist here.
I was really enjoying for the first few minutes, then... 3:35 What?? What a delightful introduction to a delicious, lyrical, mysterious idea! It seems to be quickly forgotten, but then in other forms it re-appears soon, and I love it! To varying levels, I like every work I've heard of Kapustin, but this Violin Sonata is really interesting and bizarre (in a good way!). I hope this video isn't deleted, I love this work!!! Thank you for sharing!
So many brilliant ideas on these tracks
I'm into this sonata🥹
Poulenc did it much better
9:54 reference to franck violin sonata?
I agree, that does seem awfully similar.
It's based on the pizzicato theme at 7:22, but that theme in turn sounds like it could be a reference to the Franck sonata.
Oh yeah, it must be!
11:57 those ten seconds, I love this unique chord progression! I mean G, D, C and F, Ab, Eb doesn't look special but I've never heard it in this harmonical context
sounds like anime

I feel a New York energy in this totally Russian composer's style. Kapustin gives me the impression that while he seems to have an American side to his compositional style, he is too blatantly Russian to venture forth from his country to discover the 'glories of America.' What a waste!!! He died undiscovered!!!
Very interesting musical ideas. I like it
@@seongmin_choi1123듣는법이 따로 있냐?
That is modern MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so good...
The sound recording---not the music---is bad.
All I can say is WOW! Totally Absolutely Scintillating!
totally agree with that.
Can i know where do you get the score?
just google it, its available
N.Kapustin is a Huge Talant!
Alright! I totally agree with that. He was a truly genius pianist and composer.
Frank has a great talent to play duo and chamber music..I was so impressed by his performance with Timothy Ridout back in 2016, and I really admired his talent. This concerto proved me right, his talent is way beyond my expectations! Such great music composed by Kapustin and great performance by Frank!
